Grassroots Giving: Black Mesa Resistance Camp
Black Mesa Resistance Camp Mutual Aid Drive + Grassroots Giving Fundraiser
Anytime before end-of-day on Wednesday May 3rd 2023
In partnership with Mutual Aid Phoenix and Black Lives Matter Phoenix Metro, UUJAZ has been supporting Black Mesa Resistance Camp with supply drives since 2020. Our commitment is to 40+ indigenous families who are resisting fossil fuel extraction and forced relocation on their ancestral land. How to help? You can collect supplies and drop them off to any location listed here by May 3rd, you can donate to our Grassroots Giving Fundraiser during April and May and "share the plate" with Black Mesa Resistance Camp, or you can contact [email protected] to set up another supply connection site several times each year. Share generously - we are all connected.
Save the date for our statewide OWL teacher training, Friday March 3rd - Sunday March 5th 2023, in Tucson
Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and, now more than ever, has the potential to save lives. That's why we are proud to offer a statewide teacher training for Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula that lifts up the values of self worth, sexual health, responsibility, justice, and inclusivity.
After meeting our goal to offer OWL training in six of our Arizona UU congregations, we are turning our attention to supporting many of our UU-adjacent community partners in training teachers to offer OWL in their communities.
Each scholarship is $500, and your donation is MATCHED by the UU Funding Panel, up to $2500.
Ask yourself if sponsoring an OWL teacher is the spiritual practice for you, in the fight for reproductive justice.
