Congregational Resources
There are people in our Arizona congregations who can help us work and reflect on justice issues. UUJAZ wants to connect our congregations with those people! Please review the introductions below and contact UUJAZ if you want more information.
Hanne Stone
Hanne Stone is a long-time member of the Granite Peak UU Congregation in Prescott. She is currently the Coordinator of the Prison Action Group at Granite Peak. In 2011, Hanne was convicted of felony drunk driving recently finished a 20-month term of incarceration at the Arizona State Prison Complex – Perryville. Since her release, Hanne has chosen to act---to work for prison reform in all its facets. She worked for several months to compile a compelling presentation of her personal experiences over those 20 months. Hanne has shared her story as a Sunday Service at three congregations and hopes to reach all of Arizona's UU Congregations. Hanne tells her story, describing prison life and conditions, to move people to act. During the service and after Hanne will include ways that your congregation can be involved in a wide range of prison reform issues. Many Arizona UU Congregations are learning more about prison reform issues. UUJAZ recognizes this interest and wants to help make Hanne’s story available to all congregations. If your congregation would like to hear Hanne’s story click the Contact Us button and send us an email with “Hanne’s Story” in the subject line. Please include your contact information and we will reply to begin the process of scheduling a service at your congregation.
